*This is an introduction to some of the works on display.
Mayumi Goto
Japanese painter
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1982. Graduated from the Department of Japanese Painting at Musashino Art University.
After a freak accident in his childhood, he decided to pursue a career in art, and was influenced by Kaii Higashiyama and Shōen Uemura.
While he paints giant trees with the theme of "vitality," he also travels around Japan to photograph cherry blossoms, overlapping transience and human emotions. He discovered the figure of "people" at the Miharu Takizakura in Fukushima Prefecture, and has been visiting the area for over 10 years.
His unique technique, which involves creating works outdoors and capturing the sounds and vibrations of nature, has been highly praised by Claude Monet's great-grandson and art historian Philippe Piguet.
His works are collected in museums and public facilities both in Japan and abroad, and he is active in a wide range of fields, including solo exhibitions, calendar production, and corporate collaborations. He has appeared in many media outlets. He is also actively involved in social contribution as a Hiratsuka Tourism Ambassador.
