The Riviera regularly holds license schools where you can obtain a small vessel license.

2st class small boat operator
Ideal for those who want to enjoy marine life casually. This license allows you to navigate in flat water areas (bays, lakes, rivers, etc.) up to 5 nautical miles (approximately 9.2 km) from the coast.

Renewal / expiration
The validity period of a small boat operator's license is five years. Renewal procedures can be started one year before the expiration date. If your license has expired, please apply for a reissue.

Flow until getting a license
Since the national examination for departments and practical skills is exempted, it is easy to obtain a license.
Qualification
【age】
Level 1: 17 years and 9 months or older
Class 2: 15 years and 9 months or older (those under 18 are limited to vehicles under 5 tons)
* You must have reached the above age by the day before the start date of the course.
[Vision]
0.5 or more for both eyes (including corrected visual acuity)
However, if one eye is corrected but less than 0.5, the horizontal visual field of the eye that can see 0.5 or more must be 150 degrees or more.
[Color vision]
Being able to identify the color of the ship's lights at night.
[Hearing]
Being able to discriminate spoken words at a distance of 5 m or more.
[Others]
Must meet the criteria for passing a physical examination.

*1 Physical examination certificate: one that has been taken within the last five months. Those taking the renewal/reissue course will be given at the venue on the day, so there is no need to take the course in advance.
* 2 Photo: 45 mm long x 35 mm wide (passport size).Front upper body without hat, no background. Taken within 6 months.
*3 Residence certificate: Must state your registered domicile. Must have been issued within the last nine months. Must not state your My Number. If you have a boat license, this is not required if there is no change in the address listed.
* 4 If you have already obtained a ship license, please bring the original on the day of the event. (Step up, renewal / revocation)

FAQ
By when should I prepare the required documents?
Please make sure that the documents arrive and pay at least 10 days before the course.
Can I use a human dock or company health certificate instead of a physical examination certificate?
Please consult with a doctor (excluding dentists) who supports the small boat operator inspection and submit it in the prescribed format.
What should I bring and what to wear when taking the course?
If you have already obtained a driver's license or a seaman's license, please bring it on the day.
We will inform you about the writing tools and clothes required for the class before the class.
How long does it take from the completion examination to the announcement of the results?
There is no particular announcement of the results.
If you do not pass, we will contact you by noon two days later.
How soon can I issue a license after the course?
The driver's license will be sent by registered mail to the specified address in about 3 to 4 weeks.
