Rolex Swan Cup 2024

Sardinia has
Special charm

The Italian island of Sardinia is a beautiful paradise with sparkling cobalt and turquoise blue waters. It is known as a special place in the Mediterranean, where celebrities visit for high-end vacations.
In particular, the Costa Smeralda, characterized by its 35-mile (approximately 56 km) intricate coastline, is a luxury resort that is committed to preserving the pristine nature while fusing tradition and natural beauty. Its center, Porto Cervo, is not only known as a top-class resort, but is also famous as a mecca for yachting culture. The Rolex Swan Cup, held here every two years, has been held for the 2th time, and this competition is a dream stage for sailors from all over the world.
Here you will find the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, one of the world's three largest yacht clubs, and Marina di Porto Cervo, the envy of sailors from all over the world. The interior of the club is furnished with the private collection of Aga Khan IV, founder of the Costa Smeralda area, and is treasured by club members. This special atmosphere is also shared by the Riviera Zushi Marina, where the Marina Lounge, furnished with items from the private collection of Riviera Chairman Watanabe, offers visitors a special experience.

SWAN spins the story
The world's top yachting philosophy

The keyword "Someday I'll own a SWAN" has been passed down among yacht enthusiasts around the world, and the SWAN is a coveted yacht manufactured by Nauta Swan of Finland. Pursuing "safe and comfortable long-distance voyages", the flat deck, beautiful lines, and simple operability promise owners the best experience in every respect.

Moving towards the future with the sea
A new step for the Riviera

Riviera has been the exclusive distributor of SWAN in Japan since 2016, and we strive to promote the development of maritime culture while allowing people to experience SWAN and appreciate its value.
Under the leadership of Chairman Watanabe, the Riviera Group has formed an in-house sailing team made up of crew members selected from among its employees. They are currently undergoing training on the latest model, the SWAN58 "Qualia Riviera."
Last September, Riviera was invited by Mr. Ferragamo, owner of Nauta Swan, to participate in the Rolex Swan Cup 9 and race. This challenge to compete on the prestigious stage where the world's top sailors gather is not just about participating in the competition. The opportunity to experience "communication" as the culmination of the SWAN World was an important step for Riviera.
The SWAN68 "Defiance" that we chartered locally is a 30-year-old model, but on the water it shone just as brightly as a new boat equipped with the latest technology. I was reminded that SWANs are not just possessions, but are like family to sailors, passed down to new owners and continued to be loved.
The five-day race is a unique "island race" that takes place around scenic islands. Parties are held every evening until late at night, and the interaction with family and friends is seen as more special than the race itself. I can't help but feel that the spread of Western culture on the sea has the potential to further enrich the culture of ships and the sea in Japan.

Riviera’s mission and
The next challenge

The community that SWAN builds not only fosters bonds and friendships among sailors, but also plays a role in raising each individual's awareness of environmental protection.
Like the Riviera, Marina di Porto Cervo, which has the international environmental certification Blue Flag, is proud of the value of being a member of the Blue Flag Marina and has a deep respect for the Blue Flag. In addition, individual active participation in environmental activities continues to support the community.
Through the Rolex Swan Cup, we at Riviera have come into contact with the seamanship of "living with the sea" and have felt a strong sense of responsibility to pass it on to the next generation. We also felt a strong desire to establish the world's sailing culture, philosophy, and communication in Japan and carve out a future together with the sea.
This year, Riviera has decided to hold the "Riviera Swan Asia Regatta" in Japan. This tournament will bring new value to Japan's maritime culture and become a place where sailors from all over the world can gather. We look forward to the day when we can weave a new story together with you all.
