Inheriting the spirit of 70 years since the “origin”

The curtain of 2020 is about to open.
The biggest topic this year will be the Tokyo 2020 Olympics/Paralympic Games, but for us at the Riviera Group, it is safe to say that it will be a busy but rewarding year filled with many milestones.
First of all, it has been 70 years since Hakuunkaku opened. Hakuunkaku was the predecessor of the current Riviera Tokyo (Ikebukuro). The spirit and techniques of hospitality that this restaurant has built are the ``origins'' of the Riviera style, which has been painstakingly refined over the past 70 years. Throughout the year, Riviera Tokyo will be offering various commemorative services in connection with the 70th anniversary. We welcome our guests by wrapping the essence of hospitality that has been carefully inherited from our ancestors in a modern style.

Enjoy the luxury of the sea

The new business that will begin in earnest is related to the huge and luxurious "superyachts" loved by celebrities around the world. Riviera, which has been observing world standards from a fixed point at the Monaco and Cannes boat shows, is working with people involved in Misaki Fishing Port, one of the best ports in the country, to promote regular domestic port calls for superyachts. We have high expectations from the administrative authorities, and we will do our best to prepare ourselves. At the same time, we will begin superyacht charters at overseas ocean resorts and superyacht sales for Japanese yacht enthusiasts.
I am particularly passionate about the restoration of the wooden sailing ship ``Synara'' and am deeply moved by it. The project is currently underway at a special dock in the Riviera Sibonia Marina, and the dream that has been pursued as a family by top-level craftsmen from all over the world, transcending language and cultural differences, is about to become a reality.
"Malibu Hotel" will open on March 26th at Riviera Zushi Marina. 11 rooms are all suites. With the opening of this hotel, which offers a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji from every room, Riviera Zushi Marina will be transformed into a residential marina resort.
It has been two years since we took over this marina, which was said to be one of Japan's leading yacht harbors but was in dire straits.
Over the past few years, I myself have fallen in love with sailing. As an old beginner who is over 70 years old, I truly believe that both the sea on a sunny day and the sea that is too rough to sail are both majestic and beautiful. Nature is beautiful even on stormy days, so sailing on a sunny day is special. It is similar to life.
We want to preserve this beauty and pass it on to future generations. Riviera Zushi Marina has been calling itself ``Riviera Zushi Marina'' since 2006, when it acquired management rights, and has been implementing marine programs mainly for elementary school students and utilizing solar energy as an effort to protect the ``atmosphere,'' ``earth,'' and ``ocean.'' We have been making progress in utilizing it.
The Malibu Hotel is the fruition of our passion for the natural beauty of the Riviera, and has been made visible. The waters off the coast of Riviera Zushi Marina will be the stage for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic sailing competition. It is our pleasure to participate in the management of the competition.

Two Olympics supported by RCC

And one more thing. The official tournament of the U.S. PGA Tour, which is usually held in February at The Riviera Country Club (RCC) in Los Angeles, USA, has been upgraded to an "invitational" from this time, and the tournament name has been changed to "Genesis Invitational". to change.
This sunny stage was a showcase for RCC's highly sophisticated course maintenance technology. We also accept technical training for course engineers involved in the golf competition at the Tokyo Olympics. We are also proud to be involved in the Tokyo Olympics with RCC's know-how.
RCC is about to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Preparations are finally gaining momentum as the venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics golf competition.
Thank you for your continued support in 2020, which is full of topics.
