Malibu hotel grand opening
It's time to celebrate the arrival of cherry blossom season, but the worrying situation caused by the new coronavirus shows no signs of abating. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone who has been affected at work or at home.
For Riviera, which provides a place for people to gather, this is a situation that cannot be overlooked even for a moment. Now is the time to test the true value of the "polishing" we have always striven for. They work on cleaning not only the facility itself, but also public restrooms and the surrounding area, which in turn refines their minds. This is one of the three corporate philosophies that Riviera values. We will continue to respond to the current situation calmly and without delay, while taking all possible hygiene measures throughout the company.
Still...I dare to say that. Spring is the season for starting new things. The Riviera Group also has a long-awaited new development. "MALIBU HOTEL" has finally been completed in a corner of Riviera Zushi Marina. The day of the grand opening has arrived.
Malibu Hotel has 11 all-suite rooms with the concept of small luxury. All rooms have harbor views with large windows. This view, where you can see all the way to Mt. Fuji, is something I'm particular about having grown up on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. Fuji is the spiritual stronghold of the Japanese people. This is an amazing view that inbound tourists should definitely know about.
The best part of staying overnight is simply relaxing and enjoying the spectacular view of Sagami Bay. With the opening of Malibu Hotel, Riviera Zushi Marina will finally have the functionality of a ``stay-type marina resort.'' This has been my wish since I took over the management of this marina 22 years ago.
Two groundbreaking “firsts in Japan”
The Malibu Hotel also houses the first Japanese branch of Malibu Farm, the most popular organic restaurant on the West Coast of the United States. You can enjoy the delicious food that is gentle on the body, which is highly supported by LA celebrities, in a place reminiscent of the local Malibu beach.
Malibu Hotel is also the first hotel in Japan to introduce "workplace charging" and "V2B" using solar panels and electric vehicles. It is a cutting-edge technology that simultaneously achieves constant ecology and disaster response in emergencies, and is truly an initiative worthy of a new step.
Luxury and ecology are not polar opposites. Sustainable because of its high quality. This is something I felt deeply when I visited old luxury resorts on the Mediterranean coast such as Saint-Tropez and Portofino. Not only do we have gorgeous boxwood, but we also have rich food, culture, connections with the region, and above all, a beautiful ocean that has lasted for generations.
Together with our customers, we hope to create a marina resort where you can feel as if you are a resort (a place you will return to again and again) as soon as you step inside, and continue to refine it for many years to come.
What is Riviera-like?
"Challenge"
Speaking of a new step forward, the restoration project for the sailing ship "Sinara" underway at the Riviera Sibonia Marina is also reaching its final stage on land.
Restoration is the ``Shikinen Sengu'' of ships. This is the work that will breathe life into the next 100 years. This is part of the ``Riviera Future Creation Project,'' which embodies our corporate philosophy of ``living a fulfilling life in harmony with nature,'' but it is a challenge of groping in the dark without a blueprint.
Being always a challenger is the essence of Riviera.
I spoke with Tiger Woods during the Genesis Invitational in February.
Last year, at the age of 44, he returned to victory on the PGA Tour, and is a challenger who works 10 times harder than average players. That genius and that attitude. Inspired.
