At the Riviera Group, based on the philosophy of "living a fulfilling life in harmony with nature,"
In line with the 17 goals of the SDGs set out by the United Nations Global Compact,
We are focusing our efforts on creating a prosperous future through CSR activities.
Competitive sailing is a major sport with a long history and has been included as an official event since the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. Enoshima and Sagami Bay have been selected as the sailing competition venue for the 1 Tokyo Olympics. In order to foster momentum for the spread of the sport, Riviera supports the Japan Sailing Federation (JSAF). As an official partner, we support the Japanese national sailing team "Hinomaru Sailors."
Japan Marine Academy
Beautiful Japan surrounded by the sea. In order to experience its wonders and pass it on to future generations, the Japan Marine Academy was established with the aim of popularizing marine sports and educating people about protecting the natural environment of the sea. Yasujiro Shiraishi, a marine adventurer, is appointed as representative director, and Taro Kimura, a journalist, is appointed as director. At Riviera, we are responsible for its operation, and our entire staff works together to develop and implement various programs based on our philosophy.
"Sea and Japan Project 2017"
Youth programs
Last year, the first year, 5 youth programs were held between May and December. A total of 12 elementary and junior high school students participated. The youth development programs run by the Japan Maritime Academy are designed to increase interest in the ocean through fun experiences, foster a sense of respect for the ocean and nature, and preserve it for future generations. We believe it was very meaningful that we were able to provide a program at Koajiro Bay and Riviera Seabornia Marina for children in Yamanashi and Gunma prefectures, which are known as ``prefectures without ocean.''
Leader training program
Instructor training is an important program for advancing the philosophy of the Japan Maritime Academy. This is because increasing the number of instructors will create opportunities for the children who will be responsible for the future to enjoy the sea. In 2017, 38 people took the course, targeting active seniors, mariners, and the general public. Through the 14-day course, participants learn sailing techniques and obtain a boating license. You will become a ``person in charge of marine education'' who has acquired the know-how to stay safe at sea.
