History with customers
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything

One of our roots is Hakuunkaku in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. This high-class restaurant opened 67 years ago. Additionally, The Riviera Country Club (RCC) in Los Angeles, USA, is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, and it will soon be 30 years since we took over the management of this prestigious golf course.
Over the course of this history, Riviera has grown as a corporate group that operates a variety of businesses that proposes a ``lifestyle that enriches the spirit and lives in harmony with nature.''
We have weddings and restaurants in Aoyama, Ikebukuro, and Zushi, a sports club in Aoyama, marinas in Zushi, Hayama, and Miura, and a restaurant called Riviera Shokakuro in Shanghai, China. All of these facilities are used by many customers as a place to enrich and enrich important scenes in their lives.
The Riviera Group is what it is today because of the generous support we have received from everyone over the years. I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude.
We have decided to launch the quarterly "Riviera Group Magazine" as an information magazine for the entire Riviera Group. We hope that communicating about our various initiatives through this magazine will help us build deeper relationships with our valued customers and help them enjoy the diverse Riviera lifestyle.

Conveying the charm of the sea,
Social activities for the next generation

One of the important pillars of our business activities is "social contribution." We carry out various initiatives that are eligible for subsidies from local governments and other public institutions, but we are particularly focused on "marine promotion activities."
Japan is an island country surrounded by the sea, but due to its geographical characteristics, there are not many people who enjoy marine sports. I feel that, like in Europe and America, a culture that allows people to enjoy a lifestyle by the sea has taken root, and I would like people to become more familiar with the majestic nature.
At Riviera, we believe that we must now take seriously the challenge of conveying the charm of the ocean to children, who will be responsible for the next generation, and providing them with opportunities to experience the ocean in a rich manner.
With this in mind, we started the "Riviera Kaiijuku" initiative in 2006. It started as an extracurricular class in which elementary school students from the local Miura City were invited to deepen their interest in safety and nature through the experience of sailing and sea kayaking, but now the program has expanded to include children and instructors for children throughout the central Kanto region. It has developed into a marine awareness activity aimed at aspiring adults.
In conjunction with Sagami Bay becoming the venue for the yachting competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, our efforts were selected for a grant from the Nippon Foundation, and the Japan Maritime Academy was launched. .
In addition, the restoration project for the historic wooden sailing ship "Synara", which we have been working on for some time, has finally begun full-scale operations. This initiative is also one of our social contribution activities to pass on important things to the next generation.
Based on the idea of ``respecting the good old things, treating them with care, refining them, and bringing them back to life,'' which has been deeply rooted in Riviera since the company's founding, we have developed the techniques of shipbuilders who were active in Britain 90 years ago. This is an effort to restore this famous boat to the point where it can once again sail on the open sea, while unraveling the thoughts behind it.
Synara, which will make a complete comeback in 2020, will become the flagship of the Riviera Group, along with RCC.

Launching a club with all the accumulated knowledge

Well, we held the opening ceremony for "The Riviera Resort Club" on May 12th Fri. of this year.
Since our founding, we will continue to pour into this club all of the "style of hospitality" that we have cultivated over the years, with encouragement and praise from our customers.
This also means that we have finally cultivated the depth of staff that can embody the true hospitality that I witnessed at RCC and was keenly aware that this is what Riviera facilities in Japan want to be like.
In Europe and America, there is a tradition of valuing club life, and there is a history of expanding the circle of new social activities through interactions between members. I believe that this newly started club will also become an important stage for social contribution activities.
Of course, we're still halfway through. All of our employees will continue to work hard to further improve Riviera's hospitality by learning from everyone.
