Soon autumn leaves, to Kita-Kamakura

Hello.This is Malibu Hotel Seno.

The autumn colors in Kamakura begin late, and the best time to see them every year is in December.
In November, I heard a rumor that Kita-Kamakura had begun to color, and I immediately took a walk.

First, head to Engakuji, the head temple of the Engakuji school of the Rinsai sect, which is the second largest in Kamakura Gozan.
The main gate is right next to Kita-Kamakura Station, and it feels like you've come a long way, probably because there are no modern buildings nearby.

The large precincts of about 6 square meters are full of attractions such as the Buddhist temple and the temple, as well as the "Sanmon" that appears in the novels by Yasunari Kawabata and Soseki Natsume, and the national treasure "Sariden".
The maple trees have begun to color a little, but the area around Hojo Garden and Myoka Pond is still to come.I am looking forward to seeing how the quiet scenery will be dyed in vermilion and change the impression.

There are two places in the precincts where you can enjoy matcha, "Bentendo" on the hill and "Butsunichian", the mausoleum of Hojo Tokimune, and I visited "Butsunichian" on that day.
This matcha has a dark color, but the taste is gentle and mellow. When I asked the shop staff, they said that they used Uji tea and squeezed the smooth matcha before making it.
Under the blue sky, the one you have at the tea ceremony with scarlet felt is exceptional.

Next, climb "Kewaizaka" to "Genjiyama Park".This "Kehaizaka" is a short distance, but the rock surface looks scary, and the students on the excursion rushed up saying "It's fun!", But be careful not to slip or fall. Climbed to.No wonder Nitta Yoshisada couldn't break through when he attacked Kamakura.

After passing through "Kehaizaka", we arrived at "Genjiyama Park" where Minamoto no Yoritomo is said to have prayed for victory. The wide blue sky and the statue of Yoritomo welcome you.
Maples and ginkgo trees are planted around the lawn square, and it seems that the fallen leaves spread like a carpet when the autumn leaves are in full bloom. There are autumn leaves all over Mt. Genji, so it seems fun to find your own favorite scenery.

Finally, go to "Kaizoji", which is recommended by the manager.
The maple trees along the road leading to the mountain gate have not been colored yet, but if you turn the leaves, it will become a bright red tunnel and will be brilliant at once.
Although it is a small temple, there are legendary wells and landscape paintings with high artistic value, and the gentian is in full bloom in the precincts where the flowers of the four seasons are planted. It was a dignified temple with beautiful dark green moss.

In addition to this, there are many famous spots for autumn leaves in Kita-Kamakura alone, such as Meigetsuin, Kenchoji, and Sasuke Inari. In addition, at Hase-dera Temple, which is famous for hydrangea, the autumn leaves are lit up after sunset, and special nighttime visits are held, making the autumn leaves season exciting throughout Kamakura.

Autumn leaves hunting was a play for aristocrats during the Heian period.Come to Kamakura this autumn to enjoy the scenery that hasn't changed during the Reiwa era. We'll be expecting you.
