Asia's first
sustainable marina

In April 2022, Riviera Zushi Marina became the first marina in Asia to receive Blue Flag marina certification. Blue Flag is the world's oldest international environmental certification that evaluates sustainable seaside areas such as beaches and marinas.Since its creation in France in 4, it has spread to countries around the world, mainly in Europe.

Currently, 48 locations in 5042 countries around the world have obtained certification, and only about 15% of these are marinas. In order for a marina to receive this certification, there are 6 areas (①Water quality ②Environmental education and information ③Environmental management ④Safety and service ⑤CSR ⑥Society and community participation) and 37 criteria (for beaches, 4 areas and 33 items) must be met. In addition to domestic and international examinations, unannounced on-site inspections are conducted, and only beaches and marinas that meet strict standards can obtain the Blue Flag and display the flag within their facilities. In addition, since this item is a program related to all of the goals of SDGs 17, it is also proof that the marina has been recognized as a "sustainable marina" through Blue Flag certification.
