Riviera SDGs Works
Manga Award
Expanding the scope of the sustainable movement for the future
September 2022 Issue

Wishing for a sustainable movement
While the Riviera SDGs Festival, which connects people with the Riviera as a hub, has received high praise, we also feel that it is difficult to maintain the passion. Therefore, in order to bring the SDGs closer to people and expand the scope of the sustainable movement, we are holding an open call for entries for the ``Riviera SDGs Work/Manga Award.'' This time, the second time, we received over 2 applications from a wide range of people, mainly elementary, junior high and high school students.
Adults learn from children
A rich passion for the future
The "Riviera SDGs Works and Manga Award" exhibition was held at Riviera Zushi Marina during spring break, when there are many international days that are important social issues. Many people, including business owners, office workers, teachers, local government officials, environmental organizations, UNESCO/WWF officials, and parents with children who are highly interested in SDGs, came to the event and took a close look at the children's wonderful presentations.
An award ceremony in which the governor and other heads of government gave awards and praised the content.
An award ceremony will be held on March 27th, the last day of the exhibition. Presenters included Governor Kuroiwa of Kanagawa Prefecture, the mayors and superintendents of Toshima Ward, Zushi City, Hayama Town, and Kamakura City, as well as Asahi Soft Drinks, and a total of 15 awards, including the Norway Award, were presented. Karen Makishima, Minister of State for Digital Administrative Reform and Regulatory Reform, and Shinjiro Koizumi, who has served as Minister of the Environment and Minister of Climate Change, also gave video messages of encouragement, and I could sense the high expectations they have for the children who will lead the future. It's done.
Feel free to join the workshop
Experience SDGs
In addition to beach cleans and Riviera tours (backyard ECO exploration), we held workshops such as newspaper bag making, sea trash seminars, entertainment to deepen international understanding, and smile training, allowing participants to experience the SDGs.
