NO OCEAN, NO LIFE! You'll love the sea of Shonan even more!
-Preserve the beautiful and rich sea and spread the charm of the sea!Together with those who love the sea! ~
Based on our belief that ``people gather around the beautiful sea'' and ``when viewed from the sea side, the land is one landscape with no municipal boundaries'', we work hand in hand with people who love the sea to create a beautiful and rich sea. The LOVE OCEAN project started in 2021 to protect and connect “people to people,” “sea and town,” and “town to town.” The 13 cities and towns along the entire coast of Kanagawa Prefecture surrounding Sagami Bay, from Miura to Yugawara, are called the "Shonan Coast," and we are aiming for wide-area regional revitalization centered on the environment, tourism, and local economy. We are also expanding our network and community of people who love the ocean, with the hope that the LOVE OCEAN project will spread throughout Japan, which is surrounded by the ocean.

Concept: "Protecting the beautiful and rich ocean and connecting 'people to people'"
Vision: A regional revitalization model that transcends the framework of cities and towns "Sustainable urban development from the sea"
Keyword: beautiful sea attracts people
Riviera began working on marinas about 20 years ago, and after experiencing climate change firsthand while out on the water every day, he began environmental conservation activities. In 2006, we launched the "Riviera Future Creation Project," and all employees are working on the three pillars of "environment," "education," and "health and medical care (well-being)." As part of this, the ``LOVE OCEAN Project'' was launched in 3 with the aim of ``protecting the beautiful and rich ocean and disseminating the charm of the ocean'' for the future of the earth and children. Through sustainable activities such as environmental conservation activities, we are connecting people, people, the sea, and the city to a wide area, and as part of regional development that considers the sea with the environment and tourism at its core, we have created an environmentally friendly seaside area as the ``LOVE OCEAN Area.'' We are promoting blue economy and sustainable tourism through area branding (increasing the value of a wide area by giving it regional meaning).
In addition, with Riviera Zushi Marina becoming the first in Asia to receive the international environmental certification "Blue Flag" marina certification in 2022, we will use Europe as an example to demonstrate that coastal environmental initiatives will have a major impact on tourism. The keyword of LOVE OCEAN is ``People gather around the beautiful ocean.''
“LOVE OCEAN”, which started in December 2021 in three cities and towns in Kanagawa Prefecture (Zushi, Hayama, and Kamakura), is now in its fifth year. Aiming to ``revitalize the environment and wide-area regional economy by thinking from the sea'', we have worked together with many people who love the sea regardless of their position to co-create, and currently there are 12 cities and towns along the Kanagawa coast (Miura, Yokosuka, Hayama, Zushi, Kamakura, Fujisawa, Chigasaki, Hiratsuka, Oiso, Ninomiya, Odawara, Manazuru, Yugawara), and the area is expanding each time. We will continue to take on various challenges by taking advantage of the community that surrounds Sagami Bay and which allows for wide-area cooperation.
The LOVE OCEAN project contributes to the following SDGs, and is spreading to many more SDGs. SDGs are becoming commonplace for local governments, companies, corporations, and organizations. By participating in the LOVE OCEAN project, you will be taking action toward achieving SDGs 4 (Education), 7 (Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 11 (Sustainable Cities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Change), 14 (Protect the Oceans and Marine Life), and 17 (Partnership).
The LOVE OCEAN project started in 2021 with the cooperation of three cities and towns: Zushi, Kamakura, and Hayama, and has now expanded to 3 cities and towns (13 cities and 8 towns) along the entire coast of Kanagawa Prefecture surrounding Sagami Bay, as well as Tokyo and overseas. It is a wide-area regional economic revitalization model that makes it possible to solve many issues by removing various frameworks that tend to be vertical and bringing together diverse people who share the same feelings for the ocean, the future, the earth, and children. In order to promote marine nature regeneration and regional revitalization beyond regional boundaries, we are building networks and communities in which local governments, companies, organizations, residents, and people outside the region can work together to cooperate.
Following the example of the West Coast (west coast of the United States) and the Gold Coast (Australia), Riviera has named the 13 cities and towns along Sagami Bay (Miura to Yugawara) the "Shonan Coast" and is working on a wide area rather than just one coast at a time. The seaside towns facing Sagami Bay, with a view of Mt. Fuji, have come together as one with the "Shonan Coast" as a symbol, and will consider and solve the regional issues each city and town faces on a broad scale. The Shonan Coast is a small piece on a global scale, but it will grow by branding itself as a wide area where people connect with an environmentally friendly sea.

We at Riviera have designated the Miura-Yugawara area that surrounds Sagami Bay as the "SHONAN Coast" in order to protect the beautiful sea and to promote regional development. With the core of "environment, tourism, and local economy," we are working to connect people, people, the sea, and the city.
