What is Ristorante AO?
The tip of "Riviera Zushi Marina"
A spectacular view of all seats ocean view
Seaside dining with a view of Mt. Fuji
This seaside Italian restaurant is just an hour's drive from Tokyo and a 10-minute drive along the coast from Kamakura.
Located in a spectacular location with a commanding view of Mount Fuji across Sagami Bay, the restaurant offers high-quality Italian cuisine that makes the most of the bounty of the four seasons in an open space with a beautiful view of the horizon stretching out from the glass windows on all sides.
The restaurant offers a monthly changing menu of the most delicious seasonal ingredients, including fresh fish from the local Sagami Bay and "recycling vegetables" grown by farmers on the Miura Peninsula, with whom Riviera has collaborated for over 20 years in a recycling-based agriculture program. The menu combines the lightness of seaside culture with the delicacy of Japanese cuisine.
We offer a sophisticated space and cuisine suitable for everything from everyday meals to special anniversaries, as well as business occasions such as entertaining clients.
It is one of 16 restaurants designated as "Hayama Beef Designated Restaurants" (as of October 2025).
Enjoy a glass of wine while watching the gorgeous silhouette of the sunset
We always have a selection of wines, mainly from Italy, but also from producers all over the world. The ocean view restaurant, terrace seats enveloped in the sea breeze, and the time when Mount Fuji rises into the light of the bright red sunset create a tranquil and high-quality experience, perfect for anniversaries, special dinners, business meetings, and other business occasions.
Sustainability
Riviera has been continuing its environmental initiatives for 20 years, including "recycling agriculture," local production for local consumption, seaweed bed restoration/blue carbon in collaboration with Sagami Bay fishermen, and compost recycling. Ristorante AO continues to evolve as a "sustainable seaside dining" that connects the Shonan culture of living in harmony with the sea to the future.
