The Shoan Race is open to a wide range of participants, from advanced, intermediate and beginner classes. It is a yacht race that aims to win the overall championship for the year, with the upper and lower courses off the coast of Akiya in even-numbered months and the long course around Enoshima and the southwest offshore buoys in odd-numbered months.
